Linköping is the 5th largest city of Sweden and the largest city and residence city in the county Östergötland, a few hours south of Stockholm. It has a large university and is a main railway hub in Sweden. The city has a history of aviation with its SAAB airplane factory, a small international airport and a military airport. The historic city center is mostly consisting of well preserved old buildings, famous for the towering cathedral, and there is a special part in the outskirts that looks like the old times.

Lately many large scale modern building projects  have also been constructed (for example the highrise Tornet and Cloetta center arena, and a skyscraper with green roofs is planned). The city is very green with many old historic buildings, but it feels more like a small town then a large city.  It is situated south of Lake Roxen and the river Stångån flows through the city. I visited Linköping in may 2012 as a part of a business trip.
