This part is about the ultra modern business and research district IDEON and the new highrise area Margaretedal, as well as the area around the large
hospital.
Margaretedal:
Margaretedal district with the four new 12-storey highrises called Lunna Töser (slang for Lund's girls). They are called so because the 2 staples of Lund's cathedral are
called "Lunna pågar" (slang for Lund's boys). In the distance ou can see the highrise at Järnåkra and Skattehuset.
They were drawn by the Swiss architect Mario Kampi.
Lunna Töser is dominating the south part of Lund. I think they look really urbn from this angle.
The newest highrise in Lund (about 13 floors), in front of Skattehuset, formerly considered tall by Lund standard.
IDEON Science Park:

IDEON
Science Park is a kind of village for research and business in the northern
outskirts of town. It is very modern, if not
futuristic. Large companies as Ericsson,
Astra Zeneca and IKEA have offices in IDEON. A 30-storey highrise is planned
for the area. It has been approved and will be called
A huge European research village, called ESS, is also planned for IDEON.

Ingemar
Kamprad's design center. For those who don't know; Ingemar Kamprad is the founder
of IKEA.

Ericsson's
large office building (the HQ is in Göteborg). Ericsson is still one of the
world's largest mobile phone companies.
Area around the hospital:

The
observatory tower is situated between IDEON and the wellknown university hospital(seen
in the middle).
The building to the right is one of the hospital's 3 brandnew
parking garages with similar design.
The hospital, called Lunds Universitetssjukhusm, nicknamed "Blocket", is the most significant modern building in Lund.

The observatory is a former water tower from 1909.
