Scanian nature - the nature of Skåne
Skåne (Scania) is the southernmost region in Sweden. Scania, was
transferred from Denmark to Sweden, following the Treaty of Roskilde
in 1658. Scania is rumoured to be very flat and filled with plains. But
that is not completely true. There are also high hills, forests and even
ridges. Skåne has a coastline towards Öresund on both the west,
south and east side of the region. About 1 200 000 people live in Skåne,
many of them in Malmö.
