The metro of Copenhagen

The new metro in Copenhagen was inaugurated in 2001 and the system is one of the world's most modern ones. These new metro trains are computer controlled and driverless! They go partly above ground, and if you sit on the front seat you will get a rollercoaster like feeling, or you got the feeling of driving the train. In 2017) the metro had two lines and in 2022 four lines and 39 stations. All stations look futuristic and has automatic glassdoors at the platforms. There are six deep-level stations that are 20m deep. The most central station is the brand new Rådhuspladsen, the Town Hall Square that is the heart of Copenhagen. It opened in 2019 and cause huge construction works around the square for many years.

The new subway system also features glassdoors at the stations (left and right). This is the station under Kongens Nytorv, that opened in 2002.
