Dubai skylines and views - part 3: South Dubai This part is about the skylines in the south part of Dubai, neighbourhoods that were built just a few years ago! The skyline of Dubai Marina/Jumeirah Lakes Towers, where you can find some of the tallest skyscrapers of Dubai and some of the world's tallest residential buildings. There are also some skyscrapers, though not that tall, in the area around Internet City, Media City and Al Barsha. |

THE VIEWS FROM MARRIOTT HARBOUR HOTEL: Around sunset, (5-6 PM in January) we went up to the top of Marriott Harbour Hotel, to have diner. The views were stunning and it turned dark very fast! The building is "only" 253m tall and has 59 floors, and was built as "early" as in 2007, so today the view is partly blocked by taller buildings, unfortunately. The food was ok, but not more...fried chicken with french fries. And a glass of red wine (alcohol is only served in hotel buildings). |

OTHER SKYLINE VIEWS OF DUBAI MARINA: |
The skyline of Dubai Marina, seen from Marina Promenade. The building to the left is Cayan Tower, that resembles Turning Torso in Malmö. To the right of it you find the Marriott Harbour Hotel where we had diner at sunset on the top. Princess Tower is Dubai's second tallest building after Burj Khalifa (414m, 101 floors), it is the building with the silver crown and spire. The Torch (337m is to the immediate right of it). The white building with the spire to the far right is 23 Marina, the world's tallest residential building 2014 (393m, 89 floors, 3rd tallest in Dubai during our visit in 2014) and Elite Residence, the beige building in the middle is the fourth tallest (381m). The tall one under construction (with cranes on top) is Dream Dubai Marina, that will be Dubai's second tallest upon completion in 2014 (432m, 101 floors). |
