Potsdam City Center - part 2
DUTCH QUARTERS,, NAUENER TOR, TOWN HALL, HEGELALLEE

The city center of Potsdam consists mainly of old buildings, especially in baroque style. Because of the city's significant role in Germany's history, you can find many beautiful historic buildings, such as St Nikolaikirche, Nauener Tor and Potsdam's own Brandenburger Tor. As Potsdam was part of the former DDR, some buildings are still in disrepair. Because of the international imporatnace there are charming Dutch and Russian quarters in the city. The center is surrounded by parks, like the huge Sancoussi, and lakes. Click on any thumbnail to enlarge.
