Shenzhen skyline
- Luohu District, Futian District, Nanshan district, Windows of the World

Shenzhen has one of the best skylines in China, and probably the world, a good competition from the neighbouring Hong Kong. After developing from a village in the 1970s, from a city with some of mainland China's first skyscrapers (far ahead of even Shanghai) in the 1980s to a metropolis in the late 1990s. KK100, Shenzhen's 100-storey tallest building, built in 2011, and Shun Hing Square, the second tallest, both have observation decks, and both are situated in the Luohu district that borders Hong Kong's northern outskirts. We visited the Meridian observation deck at Shun Hing Square (Diwang Bldg) that was Asia's tallest building upon completion in 1996. Ping An International Finance Centre in Futian district will beat all these buildings upon completion in 2016 (it was almost topped out already during our visit) with a heitght of at least 600m ( a secret) and 115 floors. Other significant buildings are the 1/3 in size copy of the Eiffel Tower in the Windows of the World theme park, SEG Plaza, Shenzhen WTC with its inverted top, Excellence Plaza with its diagonal lines after dark, Golden Business Center and Century Plaza Towers (golden skyscrapers), Shenzhen Development Bank (red glass, diagonal shaped building)
10 more buildings with over 100 floors are planned for the near future, so the skyline of Shenzhen will change dramatically, and will probably be even ahead Hong Kong, or may be Shanghai in the future!

Futian (city center, CBD) and Luohu (border to Hong Kong, CBD) are the district that has that has the largest share of skyscrapers but also in the districts in the outskirts, like Nanshan district you will find skyscrapers. No matter what district, most skyscrapers are scattered around Shennan Boulevard that goes from East to West across the city.
