Trieste by night

- Piazza della Libertà, Central Station

After visiting Venice, and having missed the first train, we arrived in Trieste late in the evening. Most places were closed, and we only saw Piazza della Libertà and the Central Station. The grandiose palaces at Piazza Unità d'Italia and Riva are illuminated at night though.

We stayed at the Pensione Rittmeyer, situated near the Central Station and Piazza della Libertà, a short walk from the waterfront and the Unity Square. Thee staff was really nice,we got a room with bathroom for the same price as a room without bathroom. It was simple and clean, the beds were quite hard (there were three of them), but worked really well as just an affordable place to sleep overnight.
