Vienna has many beautiful parks and green areas, both in the city center and in the outskirts.

BURGGARTEN (Innere Stadt):

VOLKSGARTEN (Innere Stadt):

PRATER (Leopoldtadt):

Praterpark is the largest park in Vienna.

Prater Amusement Park occupies only a part of the large park.

Riesenrad ferris wheel is the landmark of Prater and is one of the world's oldest moving ferris wheels. It is 65 m high and was erected in 1897 to celebrate Franz Josef I's golden jubilee. In the past, there was a theme park "Venice of Vienna" with canals, gondolas and Italian buildings that surrounded the wheel.

KARLSPLATZ (Innere Stadt):

Karlsplatz, a large square that feels more like a park and is dominated by Karlskirche. Even if it is hard to see on the pictures, heavy traffic surrounds the place.

STADTPARK (Landstrasse/Innere Stadt):

Stadtpark, the park that divides Landstrasse from Innere Stadt. A canal goes through the park.

BELVEDERE GARDEN (Landstrasse):

The Belvedere, a baroque palace and gardens built by Prince Eugene of Savoy. Both the upper and lower Belvedere were drawn by the architect Johan Lukas von Hildebrandt.

THE GARDENS OF SCHLOSS SCHÖNBRUNN (Hietzing/Miedling):

Schönbrunn's gardens are world famous. A sculpture and a café to the left of the very touristy plaza in front of the castle.

The Gloriette of Schönbrunn and a small part of the huge Baroque garden that has the size of a small town! The gardens where not included in the imperial tour that I made. The Gloriette is situated on the hill above the garden and was designed to glorify the power of the Habsburg family, an idea from Maria Theresa. Today it houses a café.

DONAUPARK (Donaustadt):

When you enter Donaupark you see this warning sign for small locomotives that drives around the park on a min railway.

DONAUINSEL (Donaustadt):

Donauinsel, the thin island in the middle of Danube, is a green area where you can take a stroll.

Donauinsel (Danube Island) is a long and green island in the middle of Danube. Is you can see there are many green areas in the outskirts.
